Double Mango Tree Growth Rate: Mini Greenhouse on a Budget

Показать описание
We all want our mango trees to grow quickly. Unfortunately, in our mediterranean climate (SoCal San Diego), mango trees grow at a snail's pace compared to a tropical environment like Florida.

Our solution is to build mini-greenhouses for each mango seedling to crank up the heat and humidity, mimicking those lush, tropical vibes. The goal: turbocharge vegetative growth and at least double the speed of our baby mango trees. Stick around to see how it turns out!

Average cost/mini greenhouse (plastic and clips only): About $3.25 - $4.00/seedling

This is exactly how commercial growers speed up juvenile trees! Consistent warmth = faster cell division and longer growing seasons. Can’t wait to see your results—might inspire a whole wave of SoCal mango enthusiasts!

I did the same over winter and early spring this year. Grew two or three nice flushes. Definitely more growth. I had more of an opening than your set ups, with it opening on the north side, not on the top.

What time of year will you eventually remove these? I've done a similar method through the winters to help encourage growth and offer slight protection, but when we get the temperatures in the '90s in January randomly I have to remove them as it seems they get too hot underneath
