oo, i do this. i would suggest just laying the yarn down on a surface, i use a smooth plastic cutting board, and gently brushing it on the surface. its much easier and has less clumps.

I made a wig this way, combing fibers which I then sewn onto a crocheted wig cap I had made. Super soft and super light
