We let our two cats have a sniff of catnip once. One cat rolled into his back and pee'd all over himself. The other flew into a rage and attacked the pee cat. I took it away, I guess my boys weren't ready for the hard stuff.

Catnip, I learned early on not to keep it in a plastic bag when buying in bulk. You will have a big mess to clean up.

3 of 4 of our cats love it. Play with the the catnip toys, rub on it, and toss it about. The 4th cat, grabs the catnip toy and growls at all the others. I call him my "mean drunk". We now avoid letting him have catnip.

One of our cats, Alice, became very defensive/hostile when given catnip. We never showered her in it, but once she caught wind that their was catnip about, it was all hers. She'd attack anyone or anything that got close while she was rolling around. She was a dork though.

I grow catnip in hanging baskets. I am on a first name basis of every cat in a 3 block area who show up daily for a quick buzz. Its fun to watch.

My friends cat was very skittish except to her. So, as a prank, I put some catnip in my shirt pocket and visited telling her I had a way with animals. The cat jumped up in my lap after a short time and from there on out she loved me even without the catnip :) I didn't tell her for a long time what I had done :)

One of our cats loves catnip, the way he acts after rolling around in some is closer to MDMA than anything. He goes from very standoffish and wary, to being very affectionate with our other animals in a way we've never seen before. It's quite fun to watch.
