2024 Harris 'Like Detroit' Ad

The Harris campaign is airing this new TV commercial this weekend spotlighting a negative remark Donald Trump made about Detroit while speaking in the city.

The ad, which features the voice of Detroit native and actor Courtney B. Vance, comes less than 24 hours after Trump finished his speech at the Detroit Economic Club.

At one point in his remarks, Trump told the crowd that if Harris wins the presidency this fall "our whole country will end up being like Detroit."

The new minute-long ad features images of Detroit and the actor Vance saying Trump doesn't "know anything" about the city's revival.

"We are a city of winners," Vance says in the commercial. "Of up-and-comers. Of builders. The Motor City, bigger and better. Here, we believe in freedom. We don't bow down to nobody, and we never will."

Michigan is a battleground state and considered a must-win for Harris.

I'm a Michigander and very much opposed to tRump, but that GD at the end may have lost her some of the Christian vote here. Try using "damned right" or "darn right" instead of "goddamn right."

I live just outside of Detroit and have worked in Detroit for over 20 years. Detroit is deteriorating. It is in horrible shape. There are burned out homes and businesses. There are pockets that have been improved, but for the most part it is hollowed out. I drive one of the main streets, Gratiot. There are no large chain grocery stores or pharmacies. I hate to say it, but Trump is more right on this one.
