Oh my god! Finally a simple way of aligning text to the centre of divs! I no longer have to prat around with display: table-cell, setting the Line height to match the div height, putting in special padding rules like calc(50% - 1em), or translateY. Thank you! Viva la Grid!

does this not work with <button>s? i've tried align-items, align-content, align-text and these buttons inside the parent div just won't move upward or downward... they center horizontally. anyone mind offering a hint?

I want to align content within a cell but. i do not want the background colour to be aligned.

I don't want the background color. to move, how can this be done ?

Thank you! Super useful tutorial! But is there a reason you are using IDs for the wrapper in this video and the previous ones? I know we can use both ID and class as hooks for CSS (you taught me that! :D ) but any reason you prefered IDs here?
