MY SCI-FI NOVELS

DELPHINE DESCENDS -
After her family is killed and her homeworld occupied, young Kathreen Martin is sent to the distant world of Furoris for re-education. She will live the rest of her life as a serf – to be bought and sold as a commodity of the Imperial Network.
When her only chance of escape is ruined, a chance mistaken identity offers her a new life as the orphaned daughter of a First-Citizen Senator and heiress to a vast fortune.
She vows to claw her way into power to sit among the worlds’ elite. Then, with her own hands, she will reap bloody vengeance on them all.
But, to beat them she must play their game. She must become worse than them all.

BLACK MILK -
Prometheus has the chance to bring his wife back from the dead, but doing so will mean the destruction of Earth.Spanning time, planets and dimensions, Black Milk draws to a climactic point in a post-apocalyptic future, where humanity, stranded with no planet to call home, fights to survive against a post-human digital entity that pursues them through the depths of space.Five lives separated by aeons are inextricably linked by Prometheus’s actions:
Ystil.3 is an AI unit sent back in time from the distant future to investigate Prometheus’s discovery...
The mysterious Lydia has devoted her life to finding a planet that the last remaining humans can call home…
Tom Jones (he’s a HUGE fan!) is an AI trapped inside a digital subspace, lost and desperate to find his way back to his beloved in real-time…
Dr Norma Stanwyck is a neuroscientist from 24th Century Earth whose personal choices ripple throughout time...
Prometheus must learn the necessity of death or the entire universe will be swallowed by his grief.

When you drive into Koblenz (Germany) from the north, there is an old building with a huge “Ubik” written on the side (probably the end of an old advert), and whenever I drive past, I wonder if I have died without realising it, and this is some kind of a weird P.K. Dick influenced afterlife.

Brought to life by the quality artwork you've taken time to find. Thanks.

Honestly the best review I ever saw on UBIK. And trust me, i'm a huge fan of both PKD and this book, which also generated my first tattoo, and it continued inspiring my psychedelic art. Couldn't possibly recommend this book more.

Great review. I have yet to read any PKD, this definitely sounds interesting.

Just finished. So May ways to take the whole read. Strongly suggest to read with a mate to have a discussion. Most of the satisfaction of it is the discussion that you can have after the read

Read it about 6 years ago when I was 20 years old. Don't think I was a mature enough reader to fully understand it. It was really just the second novel I read for my own pleasure, Do Androids being the first. I might give Dick another shot and maybe reread this one or read Valis.

I'm a fan of PK Dick. I read The Man in High Castle, Valis, Scanner Darkly, Our Friends from Frolix 8, The World Jones Made. I'm currently reading The Three Stigmata of Palmer Eldritch.

The only PKD I've read is The Man in the High Castle and I thought it was interesting but ultimately a little underwhelming. I'm one of the few people that didn't like Blade Runner although I loved Blade Runner 2049 and the film adaptation of A Scanner Darkly. Ubik has me intrigued and I think reading it will be a good way to determine whether I should dive deeper into PKD's works or not.

I have to teach this text to reluctant high school seniors in a rural area. I’m glad I looked some info up because I am hoping to enjoy the book so that I will like teaching it. This video has made my outlook more positive—especially since I like teaching Bradbury’s 451.

Hey Darrel, who doesn't like Dick?
Man, I've read this twice but it's been a good 10 years or so since I last read this. Like yourself, I don't mind ambiguity in narratives. If the characters in a story don't get enlightened as to what is or has gone on, then neither should the reader. I find that mystery adds an empowering aspect to a story.

Loved Do Android Dream of Electric Sheep, A Scanner Darkly, but I really did not enjoy ubik.
