The cards include: the Capital One Platinum, Apple Card, Petal Card, X1 Credit Card, Discover it Cash Back Card and the Chase Freedom Flex. Although these aren't student credit cards you could consider applying for one if you are a student, since they have low credit score and income requirements.

Honestly I’m always talking to people about Petal. No one really talks about them, I’ve had mine for over a year now and I’ve honestly had a good experience with them. They never asked me for my bank info at all. Not all people will need to do so, unless your credit score is really bad. Js

Data point for Chase: I'm 32 years old, I have 3 credit cards and no other credit history. Oldest account is 3 years old.

Chase has closed my freedom unlimited accounts (one application a year ago, one this year) after accepted applications. Reason for closures is due to insufficient credit history. I'm too risky after 3 years of history with no late payments and never carrying over monthly balances.

Love this background! I had the same capital one but secured in my 600s and it never did anything for my score i cancelled it a year into getting it. I want the venture and savor card though. I have been trying to get chase in my mid 700s but it's hard since i have a small card file and a few inquiries i am now working to get removed. I will try chase again in jan/feb.

I did not know about the 1-year rule with Chase. I had my sister apply for a Chase Freedom Unlimited and she was denied. She's had the Capital One Platinum for 11 months, so we will try the reconsideration line or go into a branch. Great info!

I don't think you can upgrade Capital One Platinum anymore. In Sep 2020, I had no upgrade path or any path to get to a no AF card, so I closed it.

What should I do with my beginner cards when my credit improves? I have capitol 1 platinum 500 limit, Avant 300 limit and First Premier bank 500 limit. I have just been approved for Chase freedom unlimited 500 limit.
