A lot of football players would say that playing football in the rain is the best weather to play and there's no doubt that it's a different experience compared to playing in dry weather conditions. In today's video you'll hear more about how you can think about your playing style on the football pitch to adjust for the fact that it's wet and slippery out there - and also, JayMike will take a look at how you can get the right football gear to play in the rain. That includes getting a pair of SG football boots - or even going with the boss version, the Nike Anti-Clog technology that prevents mud from sticking to your football boots. As football pitches are often wet, soft and muddy in the rain, you need some extra traction, and football boots with SG studs can give you that as the SG boots feature longer and fewer studs, giving you a better and firmer grip and traction in the ground despite it being soft and muddy. In my experience, playing in the rain can be fun at times but if you're playing in a serious match for a club or something or perhaps in a tournament it's best to keep things simple and you know play to your basics...cuz all the flashy stuff doesn't work in wet conditions

I am playing in Malaysia and without SG boots you would not be able to play when it rains. Makes such a big difference so that you don't slip over and you can move in different directions quicker with better traction. If you want to play serious then you should definetly purchase a pair.

I think damp is best for slide tackles. And dry is best for strikers

I just wanted to add a couple of things you should also keep in mind depending on how to chose the right pair of boots in wet weather. Yes, leather boots absorb more water and will be heavier. On the other hand, because everyone will use SG boots (with metal studs), if someone steps on your foot, it will hurt even more than normal and you risk getting injured. So a thick leather upper will be a lot safer than a thin synthetic boot in that regard. It depends on you what is more important to you. Funfact: Bastian Schweinsteiger always put his leather boots in water before a game, because he actually liked the feel of wet leather!
For me personally the best "wet weather boots" have always been synthetic boots with a thicker upper that also have some control elements like the CTR360 Maestri iii or the Predator Instinct. Sadly, those boots are not produced anymore.

As a goalkeeper I hate playing in the rain because my gloves always get slippery (don't have Aqua gloves) and when somebody shoots on net the ball skips on the ground which results to the ball traveling quicker.

In india there are no proper grounds and if it rains even half an hour the grounds get full of water☹️

I use vaseline for my Leather Boots so the Water Pearls off seems to work for me
