It is so good that Nikon arguably discontinued it so it would not compete with sales of their new mirrorless bodies. I have 3 D500s for sports photography. Epic and perfect.

For an apsc camera the D500 does amazingly well at higher iso. If and when you do see digital noise you will find it isn’t blotchy like some apsc but is more of a smooth grain like you were used to in film days with higher iso film. The noise when there isn’t as intrusive plus can be dealt with effectively in post. Another item not mentioned is how effective the D500 is at recovering detail in underexposed photos. It is amazing the latitude that a file has when you bring up exposure in a photo which yourwould think is underexposed beyond belief. I have been using a D500 for years and cannot say enough positives about what Nikon produced here. It is so customizable to the user. You can set the buttons to most any preference you can imagine and even the built in menu can be customized for you to have quick access to your most used menu items. The only DSLR that competes with the D500 is the D850. It has a slower frame rate though. Even though mirrorless cameras are all the rage and in vogue right now this is the one DSLR that anyone wanting a camera you can grow with should consider. You most certainly will be getting a professional camera that will NOT disappoint.

Now the high ISO is not a problem for the D500 because I have some photos that have 50k-100k ISO and are smooth and clear so low light is not a problem for the D500. So that's about the only thing he said I say is wrong. Yes I own one and have done everything with it from landscape to portraits and have found it to be great for printing my photos without any problems.
