In the US, you can drive 2 hours and still be in the same state you started in. 😅

When i was driving in the UK and stopped for “petrol” at a station and noticed a sign posted there which said, “football coaches not allowed”, i asked my husband why football coaches were not allowed—he laughed at me. Football coaches in the USA are people not buses.

Drove 3 hours to finally meet a gaming friend of 20 years. Had lunch / chatted for a bit. Then drove home. lol. A short trip.

An internet friend, from the EU, was coming to Canada and would be stopping off for an afternoon in NYC. She seriously asked me to drive in to NYC for the afternoon so we could lunch together. I tried to explain it was too far and she just didn't understand until I turned the distance into kilometers.

I live in Texas, near Dallas and about 2, 700 kilometers from the NY/ Canada border. She was shocked.😅😂😅
Greetings from Texas☆♡

I live in Idaho. There are signs outside of my little isolated town, that warns 'Next gas station 150 miles.'

2 hours? That’s a day trip to the beach!

In the USA, I’m in the Midwest and if I want to go visit my family in Texas we usually fly. It takes around 4-5 hours to get to Texas just flying, but we did drive once and it took 16 hours. The fact that some countries think 45 minutes is a long drive is absolutely crazy to me. Like my dad drives an hour to work every day, it takes 30 minutes for us to get to church, and also if we wanted to visit Chicago, that’s 3 hours. 3 hours is a super short drive in my eyes

Before I was married, I'd drive from NYC to San Diego at least 3x a year to visit the folks. 14-15 hrs a day driving. Usually it took 3 days.

Loves, Speedway, Wawa and Buckee’s are the life blood of the country. I’ve done three cross country road trips and I’m grateful for all the gas stations dotted across the country.

Finally got to visit a Bucee’s while on a road trip from Oregon. Amazing! The sandwiches alone were worth the trip! We stopped in twice and that wasn’t enough!!

I live west of San Antonio. The drive to my parent's house in Colorado is 800 miles. I have to drive 568 miles before I even get out of Texas. Places like Buc-ee's make those trips so much better.

Buc-ee's isn’t just a gas station; it’s a destination. People actually plan their road trips to include a stop at Buc-ee's. A new Buc-ee's is being built along the highway not too far from me. County and state officials had to approve plans to expand and reconfigure the off/on ramps because the existing exits are too narrow and short to accommodate the projected traffic in the Buc-ee's lot.

Growing up in South Africa we're also used to long road trips to get to a holiday destination, waking at 4am and driving 8hrs with one break just to get into another province.

When I moved to the UK I had a work colleague tell me about his planned trip down to Cornwall and how he needed to stop at a Premier Inn for the night on the way... the drive was 3 hours

I’ve been to the one in South Carolina and it’s amazing. The restrooms are immaculate and I understand that’s at every location.

I’ve been seriously asked by a British friend where I planned to spend the night on my road trip to Seattle. I lived in Portland at the time….

In Dallas, you can drive for 4 hours and still be in Dallas (although it's not really driving since you're stuck)

My family lives all over the Dallas—Fort Worth Metroplex. When we get together, we always drive 1 1/2 to 2 hours through the metroplex traffic. And when our get-together is over, we drive another 2 hours to get home. That's normal.

There is a gas station in Percival, Iowa that has so much to offer. Food, drinks, auto goods, hiking equipment, a wide assortment. It also has bidets for the ladies rooms. My favorite stop on the way to hiking places before I go back home.
