This corroborates the notion that when authoritative figures mention or highlight an analysis tool, the tool becomes the target to achieve. After the tool becomes popular and widely used, in some cases manupulatively, eventually this distorts the efficacy and utility of the tool.

In this context, the buffet mention index could be interpretted such that as long as Buffet mentions the company, its worth investing in, which isn't necessarily true.

Buffett & Munger have mentioned a number of times that they don't want to be partners with someone of low integrity. They disqualified themselves with the cross selling scandal but Buffett couldn't very well criticize the company as he held it as it would have been sold off. So he quietly reduced his position. It was not unexpected to people who have read his annual letters in the past.

Wells Fargo was involved in a lot of scandals over that period and he probably realized this. Apple has been hit by a lot of regulators and is feeling the international pressure from it. But it is likely that they are involved in a lot of scandals so he is likely going to wind it down. That is not to say that it is a bad company but it is not his forever stock. It has a wide moat.

It speaks less to the future of Apple and more towards how he makes money. His voice moves markets so by buying low, when the company goes high he creates volume so that he can sell. That creates liquidity for his fund.

I think It miggt have something to do with them constantly trying to squeeze every dollar out of decent product. But many people are brainwashed into thinking that it's the best product. The moment people realize how mediocre apple products actually are(for their price). People will jump ship and apple will die. I was an apple(iphone) user for 4 years of my life. And when I switched to android, my eyes were opened. Yes apple might have a more user-friendly software. But the hardware in apple is abysmal for the price. Android is much more customizable, better screens, better camera, better battery, runs faster and smoother. Android is just a better buck for your money.

Im not telling you apple isn't a good product. Like macbook is a superior work station, comes with editing sofwares and other niet features. But you could build you own pc that is stronger and still have more than enough money for editing softwares and gadgets.
