Warren Buffett's Berkshire Hits $1 Trillion: But Why Is It Selling Stakes in Apple & BofA? | Firstpost Tech & Trade

Warren Buffett, the legendary investor, recently marked his 94th birthday with Berkshire Hathaway hitting a $1 trillion market cap, joining a select group of tech giants. However, Buffett's recent moves have raised eyebrows. The firm has sold significant stakes in Apple and Bank of America, amassing a record $277 billion in cash. Critics argue that Berkshire's performance is lagging compared to the S&P 500, and Buffett's reliance on traditional industries contrasts with today’s tech-driven market. Speculation swirls around whether these actions are a strategy to mitigate potential tax increases under a possible Democratic presidency or prepare for future economic downturn. Let's try to understand.

He wants to buy cheap we have seen this so many times. The most significant lesson I gained from the stock market in 2023 is that uncertainty prevails, emphasizing the importance of humility. Adhering to a long-term strategy with a competitive edge is key, If Buffett can wait so can you.

If buffet selling, then Is this a good time to buy stocks? I know everyone is saying stocks are at a discount and all but just how long will It take to recover or am I better off putting my money elsewhere. I need a lot as rent, inflation alone eat up almost all of what I make with dependents and other obligations included. Tbh it's an uncertain year for me.

Every crash/collapse brings with it an equivalent market chance if you are very well informed and equipped. I've seen folks amass up to $800K amid crisis, and even pull it off easily in an unfavorable economy. Unequivocally, the bubble/collapse is getting somebody somewhere rich.

I'm approaching retirement and have saved $650, 000
outside my pension account. Given the long term nature of pension investments, how can I optimize my retirement account for maximum growth? my goal is to retire with 2-3 million within 5 years.

Amazing content! I have been following your videos for sometime now, consistently kicking down Wall Street doors for two years now, I have over $320k in stocks. Currently, my portfolio is down by 15%. Wondering if they're any short term opportunities I can invest in

I feel investors should be focusing on under-the-radar stocks, and considering the current rollercoaster nature of the stock market, Because 35% of my $270k portfolio comprises of plummeting stocks which were once revered and i don't know where to go here out of devastation.

I was advised to diversify my portfolio among several assets such as stocks and bonds since this can protect my portfolio for retirement of about $150k. I want to know: Do I keep contributing to my portfolio in these unstable markets, or do I look into alternative sectors?

I've always been fascinated by how top investors achieve millionaire status through their investments. Currently, I'm sitting on $345K from a home sale and I'm torn between investing in stocks or holding out for a better opportunity?

One of the most brillian investing advice i have ever gotten on youtube came from watching an interview with Julianne Iwersen Niemann. Indeed, A solid investment strategy is like a well-planted tree—it can withstand storms and still grow strong

Purchasing a stock may seem straightforward, but selecting the correct stock without a proven strategy can be exceedingly challenging. I've been working on expanding my $210K portfolio for a while, and my primary obstacle is the lack of clear entry and exit strategies. Any advice on this matter would be greatly appreciated.

So what are really the best strategies to make our portfolio recession proof. my wife is already panicking, so many questions! will the rate cut next month lead to inflation? I'm very worried about my $1million stock portfolio losing value. It lost 20 % today alone

Holding that much cash when inflation is high eroding the value of that cash says that they must believe the upside will compensate for the losses from inflation.

Berkshire has shares of other trillion dollar companies, the wealth of Berkshire is double counted, example apple also counts shares xyz in its market cap and Berkshire also counts xyz in its market cap, it is double counting

He has explained it multiple times he is sitting on cash because he is not finding any companies with reasonable valuations right now to buy. Also with the capital that he has he has a very small pool of companies he can really buy from. Doesn't mean the market will crash but yes you can say one should be careful to add more money in the market.

Most likely that is what BKH is thinking.... No way they will just sit on cash eroded by constantly high inflation if they feel that the market will be ok. They are betting on a major downside. This is defensive.

When he is sitting on cash and markets are still strong, means his withdraw did not make markets to go down....I am confused what to make out of this...who's money kept the market to go up....
