Confidence intervals for proportions provide a range of values within which the true proportion of a population is estimated to lie, based on a sample from that population. These intervals are constructed to contain the population proportion with a certain level of confidence, typically expressed as 90%, 95%, or 99%. The confidence level indicates the percentage of times that the confidence intervals, calculated from many random samples, would contain the true population proportion.
This interval estimates where the true population proportion is likely to be found. The width of the confidence interval depends on the standard error of the proportion (which decreases as the sample size increases) and the level of confidence (higher confidence levels produce wider intervals).

For example, a 95% confidence interval for a proportion means that if we were to take many samples and calculate a 95% confidence interval from each sample, about 95% of these intervals would contain the true population proportion.
