One of the rarest penguin in Aotearoa/ New Zealand followed me on a walk in Bluff

I really appreciate how she showed him her hand to see if he was interested in being petted + so she wouldn't startle him, and when he ducked his head away twice she backed off and didn't pursue it. That's respect of boundaries! The penguin didn't even feel the need to physically walk away, and instead the human walked away and gave him some extra space. Excellent!
