I hope people do their research before getting a Belgian Malinois. They have so much energy, it’s really hard to keep up with them. My husband found one at his work site this past summer, about 4 months old. I think she’s half German Shepherd and half Malinois. He couldn’t leave her in this AZ heat so he brought her home. We put out her picture in Facebook and ask around, nobody had lost a puppy. She’s was so cute, we took her to check to see if she had a chip, nope so we ended up keeping her. We already had a 9 year old White Shepherd and he put up w her. We named her Ruby and OMG, our world turned upside down. I’ve never owned a dog with so much energy, couldn’t find the off button, she took the Milinois trait Tried to keep her busy but she still tore up my bushes, dug holes everywhere in my backyard, drug wood logs all over my grass, chewed up my hose. And luckily I have an acre and she loves to chase the rabbits, dragonflies, butterflies, bugs, leaves, anything that moves, she’s on it. I’ve heard them called land sharks, Milisharks. She loves to nip at my heels when I walk, she’s gooses my daughter and sons girlfriend which I find hilarious 😂. But I love her to death, she’s my tail all day long and she’s is very friendly. She makes my family laugh, she’s entertaining to watch while I drink my coffee in the morning. I turn the water sprinkler on and she goes in circles chasing the water, that’s how I tire her out and then she’s ready for a power nap 😱😅. But yes this dog is not for everyone, they are popular rights now but please please if you don’t have the space, the energy to keep up with one, don’t get one. They have too many rescue dogs which are Belgian Milinois bc people can’t handle them, which is really sad for those dogs.
