Awesome video! Nobody tells the new tractor owner about the difficulty loading a riding mower... We all learn thru trial and error. This video is an excellent tutorial on just what the title reads! Thanks much for sharing!

Gotta' give you credit, at least you knew when to give up. This video might save someone's life, glad you leave it posted regardless of all the stupid comments.

as a neighbor I would grab a beer & lawn chair then sit back and enjoy the show.

You gave up way to soon, let’s try that again. This time, hit that ramp with commitment and speed.

Or just go trade in that widow maker ramp with a set of the safer arched ramps, and call it a day.

No the blades were not engaged! The scraping that you hear is the drive pulley attached under the engine. Also if you notice the yellow lever near the steering wheel is down! When it is up the blades are engaged.

Hi. I had the same thing happen to me, too. I found two solutions. 1. I used a wooden wheel ramp on the bottom of each metal ramp. This raised bottom of the metal ramp and increased the angle making it possible to to drive it into the truck bed. 2. When I unloaded the mower, I didn't drive it off, I got on the truck bed and pushed it until it wouldn't go any further. Then I picked up the front of the mower, cleared the edge of the tailgate, and away it went. (just make sure you have enough clearance for the mower to move as it will not be maned. )

Most of the viewers don't realize what is actually going on here....I did
the same exact thing when my wife asked me to take my new JD and go mow
her mom's yard. "Sorry honey, guess I can't get it loaded in the
truck."

I've loaded probably a hundred or more of these. With that kind of an incline, the easiest and safest way to load the mower by yourself is with a come-along winch/cable puller. You can get one for around $20 from Harbor Freight or a better one for around $30. Other people mentioned going faster, which would be a better idea than starting out slow. But then you still have the problem of the deck high centering when you get up to the tailgate. That's something you need to address manually, meaning physically lifting the mower up for a moment while that deck clears the fulcrum point. If you wanted to hop on and drive the mower up with no problems, you would need much longer ramps or a lowrider truck.

Ohhh, my happy heart! You're lucky you didn't get seriously injured trying to do that! I hope you come up with a better way! Take care and God bless!

My 70 year old friend tried this years ago. He ended up with a cage screwed in multiple places to his skull after the mower flipped back and broke his neck. True story!

I just had a similar problem and solved it by loading it using a small 2 foot hill we have at the end of our driveway. With the truck on lower ground the loading ramp angle is much more agreeable, however you'd need to find a similar setup as unloading will present you with the same difficulty.

You have to have a beer in your hand and tell the lady to "hold my beer and watch this" Then hit it with some Speed. Works every time.

You could go with a shorter ramp for an even MORE entertaining video! lololz

Single axle trailer with tilt bed works great👍straps chains and booms also can be a good friend of yours😃

The way I did mine, I separated the extension ladders and used wood to cover the steps and drove it right on up with no issues.

i use to do this for a living, your ramps need to be longer, and your suppose to go up backwards.

An Evel Kneivel jump suit and cape would have made this so much better.
