Organic Soil vs Coco vs Hydro week 7 update

Weeks 7 and Hydro has overtaken Coco and moving ahead. Organic soil looking healthy but lagging behind.

We have known for a very long time that hydro offers an higher growth rate than soil and often produces higher yields. (Coco is hydro as well.) We also know that terpene and flavanoid expression is much higher in soil grows. As home growers, yield is usually not our main concern, but quality is. It will be interesting to see the difference in quality of the peppers in this experiment. Will they be hotter, or tastier, or both?

Hi man im in Dublin I am growing a kush whit 5 LED Bulbz .normal over the counter bulbs from spar . it's growing good grand . I only have it in a box no nutrition. Just water the way the weed overseers ment it to be b4 electricity was invented .b4 all these (new led boards, well new as far as hydroponics is concerned .a box whit tin foil inside a clip on fan and I'm in week 3 ov flowering

Put waterproof mats on top of the soil pots the roots will grow closer to the surface makes them bushy aswel.

Promix hp and Gaia green grows monsters and unlike hydro they actually have a great taste and smell

LOL, as I said 7 weeks ago, you should just stop trying to do "soil" grows until you understand how soil works.
an actual LOS grow would be about even with the other two and right about at this point be starting to grow past them (as far as cannabis is concerned).
This is literally like having a drag race between a full blown dragster (missing two wheels) vs a 1969 VW beetle with all its wheels.

Hi Shane just a quick question: Why are LED lights from major manufacturers so much more expensive to buy in EU, compared to US? The latest lights from Viparspectra i was interested in are like twice the price here.

It's insane how the organic soil feel so far behind, id for sure think it do better. Coco coir and hydro, killed it tho, they are beasts of plants!

I feel like the soil isnt a realistic comparison, as any experienced soil grower would grow in stages of uppotting, enabling proper Pot-moisture, and therefore optimal rootgrowth. Obviously a hydroponic/coco substrate will be more optimal in the same containersize....

I just switched to coco From soil and I cannot believe the difference so much better So much bigger and so much more impressive.

When they are ripe you should test what has the most flavour and heat. Come on soil for the win 🤞

If you done a really scientific heat test like blend one and stick your wick in it (off cam) for the views. I'll buy some of your new lights. 👍

You do not feed organic using horse manure. You've created a acidic environment in the soil that offers almost no nutrients except nitrogen. Then you tried killing fungus gnats that's were not going to harm the plants in the first place and probably do not have the correct ratio of 50/50 peat moss to perlite in the medium. Do not be ignorant people. The only reason hydro grows faster is less resistance in the root zone. If you create the perfect environment of 50/50 and use knowledge and quality dry amendments. Then you can achieve equal results. The problem is not the soil. It's the person testing it. No offense Shane. Mistakes were made.

As people have mentioned during the live stream adding 20% coco and air domes will drastically increase growth in soil, as will adding Alfalfa Meal, Kelp Meal, Langbeinite, Bone Meal, Feather Meal and Crab Meal to the mix, then the plant in question should be genetically predisposed to the medium and the root system should be inoculated with mycorrhizae ASAP, also the water cant be ph buffered so must be naturally 6.5-7.5 and free of chloramine
