Use Your Smartphone As a Camera Monitor | Average Filmmaker

Показать описание
The inbuilt monitor in cameras is usually terrible when shooting videos. A dedicated video monitor can also be VERY EXPENSIVE! So a better and cheaper option is to use your smartphone as a camera monitor. In this video, I will show you how!

(some parts are not exactly the same that I use. I had parts lying around. But it should work as good.)
In general, there are two options when it comes to using the phone as a camera monitor. You can use Wi-Fi or use a capture card an OTG cable and an HDMI cable to connect the camera to the phone. The con with using the WI-FI is that you can control the camera but usually you get more latency and it's only working if your camera is supporting that function. Using the other method works on all cameras that have an HDMI output. Making a DIY video monitor for around 30-40 bucks is a good deal.
In this video, I will show how to connect everything together and what app you can use on your phone to display the images from the camera.
