Is crystal glass and are posters signs?

Does this work on ps4 edition? And wouldn't the villagers just suffocate? I had a few dont that in a villager breeder design I built I had to raise the glass up one block above the beds so that they would be able to get up.
But that was awhile ago and am unsure if it had be a bug.
