My family visited the caves a long time ago on our journy from Croatia back to Czechia. Me and my sister slept maybe for an hour at the local station, because our train to Ljubljana (where we had a connection with our night train to Prague) was severally delayed. And only thanks to my dad's persuasion skills, the station master opened the waiting room, because they closed in the evening. So it's pretty much unforgettable experience, although I am wery disappointed, that I didn't get the plushie 😆 You really should try night trains in the Balkans, there is always some kind of adventure

There’s something similar to this in Virginia, at Natural Tunnel State Park. Except, being American rail, it’s standard gauge, diesel powered, owned by Norfolk Southern, and only used for coal trains.

Edit: owned by NS, but also used sometimes by CSX

It is a really interesting place. I was there about 11 years ago. And I do not remember a lot about the cave tour. Except that we were pulled along by train no. 7.

Also: That castle is very much worth a visit. Especially once you learn the story of the man who got hit by a cannon ball, whilst on the toilet...
