Yeah, cause us roofers get paid just driving around knocking on doors lol Absurd. First, if a guy does an inspection for you and he points out all the damage, you should sign a commitment. That is only if he agrees to be present and to see it through. That part is tricky. However, it should be obvious that they know what they are doing. Second, roofers don't make any money until they are paid in full. This is a commitment of time, energy, and money from the company. You, the homeowner, are getting a roof for pennies on the dollar. Keep this in mind as you go through this process. Without us, you would pay out of pocket. $400 a square or more is the average right now. Do you have $10k+ just sitting around? This guy is a lacky for the insurance companies. Lastly, always check who it is that you will be doing business with. BBB is useless. Google is safer. Referrals are the best, but not always 100%. I have put on hundreds of roofs through insurance companies. This guy don't know sh*t.

“Insurance” completely changes the endeavour of the contractor from your contractor over into an incredible bulk crapitalist.

It’s why Roofing Contractors usually refuse to give a detailed line-by-line estimate & assessment….& the “why” the roofing contractor attempts to strong-arm you the homeowner into signing a contingency, & then using the same to bully you.
