Fliptop benches for the tools are indeed a great way to safe space. Another one would be a tool carousel for tools that have a small footprint by them self but take up a lot of space on the bench. This would work for drill presses, grinder wheel, miter saw etc. If you look up tool carousel on youtube you will find a few examples of what I mean. The best of luck for your new endeavors. It will be fun watching where it will be going.
