I demonstrated how to make this easy basic bodice block pattern with no darts. You can use this pattern to make designs like non fitting garments like shift dresses and t-shirts. It will also be suitable to make designs that require stretch fabrics.

This tutorial is very straight forward, concise and easy. I will be using this pattern for some of my future tutorials so it will be easier and faster for you to follow my tutorials. I will definitely be posting another version of this pattern with darts as well as other patterns for dresses, jackets, skirts, pants etc. Stay tuned for more.

In case you’re wondering- at 5:31, she says “MINE is 9cm”- NOT “MINUS 9cm”. Took me a while to figure that out.

This is actually a great tutorial, Temy. But, can you do another tutorial on how to measure yourself in order to draft the bodice? I'd like a visual, please. Thanks. 😊

Hi Terry Marie

G to I for the Front is 4cm

while O to P for the Back is 5cm
as you mentioned but your
measurement reading from the
Take was only 2.5cm.

Kindly confirm with thanks.

You have a wonderful day ahead.

Bye for now.

Sorry I found this confusing as it went so fast and I couldn’t hear what measurement you meant in places. I think it would help if you showed the measurements before you started. As although I pattern draft regularly even I wasn’t sure of the shoulder waist measurement on your draft. It didn’t look how I measure it. But I’m not sure. For clarity could you add the measurement visual. I haven’t drafted a dartless bodice so am interested in this video. Thanks

That's nice and all, but shirts and bodices don't stop at the waist. Would love to see that blocked.

FINALLY, one that makes sense. Can you show how each part of the body is measured?

u started off real good and the way you present it, is very clear, BUT you would want to tell us more instructions on what you're actually doing and why. I am a professional sewer, but this even confuses me. I never learned to draw professional patterns, so i'd like to learn. U need to tell why you choose 4cm for the shoulder slope and what you are creating those lines for in future usings. Thanks for this vid ;)

Hi. Thanks for the video. My highest point shoulder to waist for the front is 3 inches more than the back. How do I deal with that. Your assistance would be much appreciated
