Still a better ad than the one the army released this year.

I love that they stuck with the beautiful M1 helmet for these commercials even though the PASGT had largely replaced it by the early 1980s. Staying true to tradition, awesome.

Fun fact, famous soul singer Luther Vandross (RIP) sang the jingle on the second commercial US Armed Forces=Army, Navy, Air Force, Marines! I'm glad I enlisted in the Army and served 13 years. I learned valuable skills and got to travel the world (Europe, Far East) where I met friends and travel back yearly to see my old friends and where I was stationed to reminisce to this day. Without the Army, I couldn't have done that and be a proud veteran.

70s army: Tough guys jumping out of airplanes saying "be all that you can be"
2021 army: Lesbians on Santa Monica Pier raised a violin-playing ballerina who went on to join the army

My son was born into a Navy family tradition. His father was even a SEAL. I grew up watching these commercials and was inspired to serve. He chose Army. I couldn't be more proud of his decision. Watching him grow into a man. It's not until you serve that you realize it really was an opportunity to become your best self in whatever capacity. You get to make the most of it if you choose. Blessings to all my fellow vets!

I remember these commercials in high school. Joined after high school in 1986-1994, re-enlisted in 2000-2003 for Infantry and Airborne as a LRS Team Scout. Loved it! It’s a shame we gotta get old. Lol. RLTW! AATW!

The recruiting commercials these days are candy assed and even depressing to say the least.

Worst thing the army did was change "Be All That You Could Be" to "Army of One" I knew a few people who joined the Marine Corps around the time the Army changed their slogan and they would always rib the Army on their new "not a team" slogan. Thankfully the Army realized it was a terrible slogan and changed it pretty quickly.

Lol. These dam commercials made me join at 18 in 1993. I served under the last of the 25 year Vietnam vets. One time I was in the field my first unit. I was eating chow and thought I would try the good morning 1sgt. My 1Sgt yelled at me and told me to fuck off 😝Was not like the commercial..
