"is this why you cry during the song?" I had to tell him yes but your father has lost good friends in the name of freedom, that's why I cry. I watched this on memorial day weekend, and it hit hard. It kills me inside to know how much others respect this story, while half of America these days don’t respect it at all. People feel violated for just seeing it. I’ll never turn my back on that icon, and I’ll always fight against those who do.

I am a teacher. I teach high school. I happened to be out of my room unexpectedly when school started and upon returning while the pledge was going on I was not too sure what the kids would be doing on their own so I sneaked up. They were all up and hands on hearts reciting it.
