The home secretary has reaffirmed her commitment to sending people seeking refuge in the UK on a one-way ticket to Rwanda after the high court ruled on Monday that the policy was lawful.
In a judgment that could have significant ramifications for Rishi Sunak’s government, an application from asylum seekers, aid groups and a border officials’ union to stop the Conservative government from acting on a deportation agreement with the central African country has been dismissed.
