I work for one. The bought out Holiday, and they are all now Circle K.

We have a plethora of Circle K stores in our metro area. They are so ubiquitous I don't even notice them anymore.

In a poli sci class we studied supreme court cases and one case was about how Circle K sent dudes to break into homes and recover videos they rented out that hadn't been returned. I can't find anything about this online but I'm not a good internet researcher. I think this may have something to do with Circle K no longer being in the video rental biz.

In Canada we had Mac's Milk, they were everywhere. Now they have all been turned into Circle K's. Buyout or merger, I don't know. Either way the coffee is not bad.
