Yamaha WR250R ADV Bike Build!

The Yamaha WR250R is probably not the first bike that comes to mind when thinking of adventure riding, but the simplicity, lightness, and agility of a small bike will get you to more places with less work than a lot of the bigger and heavier dual sport motorcycles. The high revving engine on this small dual sport bike will surprise any adventure motorcycle rider. The bike comes with a 6 speed transmission that allows you to tackle the slow, technical parts of the trail and also allow you to run the highway speeds. Our main goal when putting this bike together was to build an adventure motorcycle that could go on multiple day rides with the majority of the trip being off-road riding. In this motorcycle bike build video we walk you through all the upgrades and accessories that we've added to this Yamaha motorcycle. We've addressed everything from luggage to comfort and also fuel capacity by adding an IMS fuel tank. We put on the Tusk Pannier Racks to this WR250R which have the ability to support hard pannier boxes as well as soft luggage depending on which type of riding you are doing. The Yamaha WR250R is a great way to get yourself into dual sport and adventure riding. These products also fit the WR250X.

So many negative comments. Here is what I will say. Thank you so much Rocky Mountain ATV for coming out with your own line of products, i.e. Tusk. They are quality products and the cost savings has helped a ton on my own WR250R build.

A WR250R owner since 09'.. this is a great bike, I have lots of info on my website... it is finally being recognized by others & other outfitters... One thing I'd say is don't use hard cases on this bike... they limited rider mobility & agile for riding this bike as its intended. Just my thoughts though, but I think soft cases & learn to pack minimalist, you will have so much more fun than loading the bike down with hard cases & then filling the with stuff! This is the adventure bike everyone should have.. to really increase your confidence off-road, super reliable (a friend has over 90k miles on his) & just goes "Anywhere"

Thx RMATVMC for contributing to the ADV community & the WR250R!!

Great video... I just finished a 14000km 3 month trip around S E Asia (Cambodia, Laos and Thailand) on a 2014 Honda CRF 250L (also a good reliable and strong 250 for adventure riding) Gonna be getting a WR250r here in Indonesia and was looking at modification ideas/luggage solutions for a future trip. Great vid - thanks for info

I'm so glad y'all are developing products for the mighty WR. I'm interested in the pegs as well.

I think the hard panniers and racks kinda defeat the purpose of the lightweight adventure bike concept. Dangerous on the singletrack trails that the WR is capable of. I really enjoy the Giant Loop coyote bag for such occasions.
Nevertheless, thanks for building up a WR250R and showing us all the bling!

when you wear out the 606 up front, try a MT21 with the 606 in the rear. Great combo. Lots of things to add to the List. Tank being first.

Very informative and well-organized video. The WR certainly is gaining attention in the light weight ADV category.

Very informative but definitely came off as an infomercial for Tusk. I guess it is what it is...

Seat Concepts is a must have if you don't plan on stopping every 30 minutes.

I think this would be the best option through the Nebraska sand hills then up to the South Dakota Black Hills, . Thanks for the inspiration!

Amazing trick riding at the end. 7:59 I've ridden a bike backwards, but only for a short distance and always followed by a spectacular crash.

I'm not one for just straight copying a build but I might have to because I dont see how I could improve upon this. Really great job!

Wow, I wonder who sponsored this upgrade. LOL Tusk maybe? I don't care for the hard panniers, I prefer my Giant loop Coyote Bag.  No metal parts and easy to remove with no required frame. Wolfman tank bag shown here does work great.
