What are the HUNGARIAN people like? - Traveling alone in Hungary

This video was filmed in Eger, a small city just north of Budapest. I spent some time exploring the charming main area and had many wonderful interactions with the local Hungarian people. These warm exchanges made me feel completely at ease traveling around Hungary.

The following day, I took a quick train journey from Eger to Szilvásvárad. Leaving behind the historic city, I traveled through the remote wilderness of the Bükk Mountains, passing through tunnels and over viaducts.

In 2013, I started my solo travel journey, leaving Indonesia in 2016 to become a full-time traveller and YouTube creator. My background in International Relations has fueled a profound interest in exploring different countries. My content focuses on exploring different cultures through the lens of a solo female traveller, aiming to capture real-life interactions and experiences.

I rarely comment on Youtube, but Eger is my hometown(though I haven't lived there for the last 20 years) and this video just made my day :) I always thought it's a nice town, but now I'm more proud of it and I'm really glad that the people you met were so positive :) Thank you.

I enjoyed your video. I am 60 years old and this summer travelled to Budapest on my own. My father was Hungarian and my mum is English but they divorced so I never knew much about Hungary. He left Hungary in 1957 after the Uprising.
I would love to travel more to the remote village where my dad came from and your video has inspired me!

This was a very unique feeling to watch, I did not expect to see my little Hungarian hometown when clicking on a random YouTube video, showcasing the sceneries of my childhood. I have been living on the other side of the world, approximately 15, 000 kms away for a long time now. Not much has changed, but I like it this way. I was just researching my next stay in Hungary (Nov/Dec) when your video came up. I've spent time in Budapest and Szeged, but my ambition is a hike around the whole country. I feel at home in Hungary and have learned enough of the language to get by as a tourist. It's not easy, but is possible.
