Imagine being 4.5 billion years old like Earth and having humans touting that nothing as advanced as us has ever existed. The sheer and utter hubris.

I was a Sonar Tech in the Navy. We all knew that there were strange sounds coming out of the depths in the pacific. Low frequency sounds travel further than high frequency sounds and always have. It's sound physics. I served back in the mid sixties, so this is nothing new. We could sometimes detect ships at over 1000 miles. valance channels contain sound waves and allow them to travel extraordinary distances. We understand more than you are indicating. There false sea floor is also a result of a temperature inversion layer that reflects sound. I am not suggesting there are not strange things in the ocean. There certainly are. Some VERY strange things. You should hear some of the sounds we heard.

I worked for Noaa and can tell you the ocean is a massive mystery. A beautiful, mysterious, and sometimes deadly place. The one experience I can recall that scared the bejeezus out of me was piloting a Destroyer through the Bermuda Triangle. Never again, that area is SPOOKY. I also was involved on some these missions. Vents was a big one. 😮
