5:00 is probably the biggest part and you buzzed right through it! All fiber optic HDMI cables I've seen are directional. Being able to swap the ends after you've run a 100' fiber cable is a killer feature!

The OptHDMI 300mA port on the back of your projector is specifically for plugging the USB power into for fibre optic HDMI cables. That will free up the other USB port if you end up using one of these in the future.

This comment probably applies to only a tiny fraction those who might see this, but if you happen to own an FTDX10 radio, this cable is an excellent solution to the blown fuses caused by using hdmi adapters for the radio. This cable has no copper wires running back to carry current from the display back to the source to blow that ridiculously tiny fuse.

I modified one of ruipro's other cables to accomplish the same thing by cutting the 5v copper wire on each end, then using the supplied power supply to power the display end. In any case, great video looks like a lot of good uses for this.

As an engineer, I work around fiber all the time but have never seen it utilized in such a unique way. I have a home theater that could definitely use this upgrade. I did all the work myself, so I look forward to running this fiber through my conduit.

I am using a fixed end HDMI Fiber cable from my TV through my wall to my receiver. The run is about 18-20 feet and it works great.

These cables your video are awesome. I love that you can replace the ends when it is time to upgrade. I need this in my system to help future proof the cables.

We use similar cables at work in our conference rooms.

This was a half assed 14 min hdmi cable install. Where's the testing to prove it can do 4k 120? Or that it can do dolby vision/atmos? This shows me nothing other than, it works! I would hope it works if they're looking to sell this product.

man, this actually a fantastic idea and I can't believe that someone has only just done it. I'm upgrading my gaming PC this month to the new 5090 and moving it to my server rack at the same time. I've got 15m Fibre Display Port cables for it but I still wish it had this feature.

I ordered that one with plan to get wall plate mpo to mpo connectors to have a clean full fiber loop instead of my previous fiber command optical extender with two hdmi cable (pc -> copper hdmi -> optical hdmi -> copper hdmi -> avr)

This is a really good idea. We've been doing this with fiber optic networking for decades already and it makes sense to do here too. You could call this an HDMI SFP.
