As the Housing Opportunities for Persons With AIDS (HOPWA) program marked its 30th anniversary, HUD's Office of HIV/AIDS Housing (OHH) took the time to identify and promote current best practices in the HIV housing field, needed changes in strategies to reflect the modern HIV epidemic and available treatments, and models to meet the current needs of people living with HIV. The 3R Strategy (Reset, Renew, Recharge) is a forward-looking blueprint for advancing program design and core values that will positively impact the lives and housing stability of people living with HIV/AIDS.

The Client-Centered Practice Series offered grantees and project sponsors strategies to incorporate client-centered components in their respective HOPWA programs, including Housing First, harm reduction, trauma-informed care, and low-barrier housing.

In the final installment of the series, attendees heard from HOPWA practitioners who are using Housing First and harm reduction principles in their program models. Presenters talked through program implementation and shared challenges and successes. This webinar offered a longer Q&A session to discuss how to incorporate Housing First and harm reduction in HOPWA programming.
