I got a decently high score for my area but I really don’t think the SAT is that important in the long run. It feels more like a test of how well you remember the niches of a wide variety of topics, rather than a general understanding of said topics as a whole. If it were to be shorter and cover areas that have become the most necessary in recent times, I think it would be much more useful for determining a students ability to perform well into their future.

sometimes you can fail a class because of certain circumstances or you didn’t have a great teacher, but if you actually understand the subject then the sat will reflect that. imo it should be required until there is a better alternative available

I feel like the sat could be useful as an optional test that students could take to make up for poor grades. It would be particularly useful for people who’s grades took a significant dip due to outside circumstances

Dude I have a 3.9 GPA but bc of my ADHD I'm a crappy timed-test taker and got a 1040. Complete bs, it doesn't say anything about intellect

In my country all good universities already clarified that they'll prefer if you give your SAT or ACT score so yeah

Standardized testing is a barrier for us, international students applying to the US, as it is really hard to find test centers in my region. Ik you can take it online and everything but finding specific tutors relates to the SAT is even harder. Luckily, after doing my reaserch, less and less collages are making it compulsory and they just consider it with less weight if you submit it. Right now, out of my 17 potential applications, only 1 requires SA
T, which I am not going to apply to as I cannot do it

Test optional is a blessing never did SAT or ACT honestly no point

The funnest part of the psat was the Calculator section was the easiest can I did not need on e and the non calculator section was the hardest

I took the online version of the Sat and it honestly was not a good experience I believe the good old paper and pencil is way to go but oh well ima take advantage of the new test optional thing

I’ve taken it twice by now, just as a practice (like even if I got a really good score I don’t think it would properly count), I better be taking the goddamn test
