The big problem in my mind with this is stuff like guns and healthcare, Canadians would never accept a deal where they join the US and lose their socialized healthcare and the Americans would undoubtedly want to keep their guns while Canada would try to keep their relatively low gun violence rate by not flooding the country with millions of American pistols
