Barathrum is one of the oldest Finnish black metal bands, dating back to 1990 with the preceding band, and even as Barathrum all the way active since 1991. Despite many line-up changes over the years, the band has kept its course and done 10 albums and much more.

There is something in Barathrum that reminds me of Greek black metal, especially Necromantia, probably because they also use two basses, but also the style of simple and strong riffing.
As a Greek I connect with Barathrum a lot!

Fun fact, barathrum and varathron is the same, it;s simply the latin version of the greek word βάραθρον (varathron)

Sova use human bones in drum sticks in early live gigs..hail barathrum!!! Thats a band with truly have they own sound in black metal field! I feel same as jerry, barathrum its not doom bm..it is pure finnish, dark and evil black metal!!

Nah! Not worth my eternal salvation. It’s hardcore and good black metal but somethings are infinitely more valuable.
