2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour 270g
1 tsp baking soda
1 tbsp corn starch
1 tsp salt
3/4 cup unsalted butter, melted and slightly cooled 170g
1 cup packed light brown sugar 200g
2/3 cup granulated sugar 133g
2 eggs large, room temperature
1 tbsp pure vanilla extract 15mL
2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips 200g

350 for 25-30 mins

This recipe is my husband favorite, he requested every time. I noticed that because John lives in very very very cold place, he forgets about people baking in more warmer places. That’s why I ended up with my first attempt sinking in the middle and very tall on the edges (nothing that bothers my husband or I), but it definitely did not look like the pictures on johns Instagram. The second time I baked this I melted the butter with less heat so there’s a little of minuscule solid butter particles and at the end I put te batter in the fridge por 20 min so the batter wasn’t as runny or melted (more firm, just like the one in the video) . Still the cookie bar sunk a little but not as much as the first attempt

Your parchment paper is so neatly fit in the pan, can you do a video on how you do that? Mine s always such a hot mess.

My husband and I were craving some bars but didn't want much and didn't to have leftovers so I halved this recipe (food scale is my friend). I baked it in a 9x5 loaf pan for 30 minutes. I checked on it at 20 minutes and the edges were done but the middle wasn't so I covered it with aluminum for the last 10 minutes. PERFECTION! It was more than enough for us and our son.

I love that you give the measurements in grams too. It is so helpful for us who live in Europe where measuring cups are not common :)
