Unfortunately for us, we could not make any of them work. We tried for 4 months. We had help from 3 midwives, hired a lactation specialist and took private and group classes. My daughter had to have her phrenulum clipped, and she had torticolis (Craniosacral sessions and some chiropractic really helped.). We were so stressed, lots of tears. I was criticised for not trying hard enough, not being a natural, having to supplement with donor milk and (GOD FORBID) formula...and all the while these comments about how breast feeding was so euphoric and the sweetest thing a mother and baby can share... And no matter what we did, we could not accomplish it. It made me realize that we need to applaud mothers for caring for their children as best they can, without holding up breast feeding as the gold standard in bonding and love and what not. LOVE needs to be the sweetest thing you share.

Can someone please explain why these people say its not painful my first week was a nightmare and baby was latching perfectly i had little sore here and there on both my nipples and my midwife tells me i have beautiful nipples 😳 im like "what, where do you see beautiful nipples" 😂😂😂 she just looks at me like yes jade you doing a very good job you dont need me for this 😢 al i thought about was the pain because i never had beeast tenderness throughout my entire pregnancy and then boom my nipples are burning, baby drank through my nipple cream. Doesnt hurt so much now but that intial latch still stings
