I am gen-x, I grew up with phreaking and hacking, and slogans like "information wants to be free" and "I am Tron, I fight for the users".

Later it turned from C64 assembler programming to unix, and over to linux. Freedom in all forms has always been at the core of my identity.

I am totally flabbergasted by the current trends, I would never have believed it if someone has told me only 10 years ago.
