In the first season of Yu Yu Hakusho after Yusuke gets brought back to life, there's an episode where Kuwabara (if I'm butchering his name I'm sorry it's been awhile) allows himself to get kicked around by a gang because they're holding his kitten hostage and threaten to kill it if he doesn't do their bidding. So this proves Kuwabara also has a soft side for animals.
