In this video, i talk about how Yu Yu Hakusho inspired the Naruto series. Masashi Kishimoto is a big fan of the series and Naruto probably wouldn't have been the same without it.

Imo I think the chidori was inspired by Yu Yu Hakusho. There was a scene where suzaku used lightning in his palm with his spiritual energy. Don't know if that's a reach but I could see similarities between how Sasuke/Kakashi runs with the chidori and how suzaku runs.

Not just Naruto and Bleach, but I also noticed things that could've inspired One Piece, too. Kurama vs Saint Beast looked a lot like Zoro vs Pica and Yusuke vs Yomi energy clash reminded me of Haki clash. YYH is criminally underrated.

Also in naruto he rips off of the tournament fight with bui vs hei in yu yu hakusho bui takes off weights like lee has green energy like gates the hand wraps hei used lee used for the lotus they both in tournaments kishi moto improved on this fight and the lee and Garaa fight turned out to be one of the greatest fights in anime history

I just watched Yu Yu Hakusho a third time. If you watch closely you will notice, how much Naruto/Boruto is "copying" many things from the anime. Obito Kamui or dimension was also "stolen". Even in Boruto you see that there are few details "stolen" such the pills that Boruto can use Karma which is similar to Kurama using the drug to turn into his old self.

Yu Yu Hakusho >>> Naruto in my opinion because:

Better character development and story development.

Hiei eclipses Sasuke in story he actually went through a character arc unlike Sasuke who ended up becoming worse of a character.

Yusuke also progressed as a character where as Naruto stayed the same pretty much throughout the entire franchise.

I prefer Kurama's calm collective and intelligence over Naruto's moronic annoyance.
