There was so much wrong with this review...

1). It’s been said to death, but Ranger is not a support class, in fact it’s one of the three main DPS classes.

2). You showed off the gunblade... in only rifle mode! It can turn into a sword! That’s the point of it! Why not show that off?! The whole reason it’s weaker than most weapons is because it’s versatility in various roles and on all classes.

3). I’ve played this game a lot (Level 75) and you made it look very, very boring. You had a bland looking character and used the most basic weapon in the game. You didn’t show off the face-paced combat, the plethora of weapons or anything. Rangers are usually slower than others, but they have tonnes of flashy moves, rocket launchers, assault rifles and all sorts. But nope! You just shot the gun and used the charge shot photon art a couple of times. Looked so boring! Show off some of the crazy cosmetics and OTT photon arts!

Between 7-8 out 10 is pretty fair score for PSO2. Wished the reviewer played till level 50+ to get a better grasp of the game.

A lot of the people complaining about the quality of the review and how he is doing things wrong are actually just making his most important point for him. This game is not new friendly and relatively harder than most games to get into. And he seems pretty new to the game so y'all complaining are just reinforcing his main point.

Something i want to mention quick;

PSO2 is multiple years old, and was JP only for the longest time. Its available on the playstation, and vita in japan, as well as PC. Its on the xbox first here in the west ~7 years or so later because microsoft foot the bill to bring it over here.

Not gonna lie, This review is cringe. The man hasn't even unlocked his mag yet (Think of a pet that gives you a damage boost depending on the items you give) Or his subclass, he isn't even using an assault rifle or Launcher, which are the main weapons for his class.

I haven't played that much, but my main class, Hunter is Level 42 out of 75, so if you watch this video, here are my thoughts

This game's combat really doesn't feel like an MMO, using the Hunter's sword combat almost feels like I'm playing Kingdom Hearts, timing my attacks and using my abilities for the most damage, while guarding at the right time to protect myself and heal others. The game also reduces the nead for RNG by giving multiple ways to get maybe not the best, but at least good weaponry by just putting the time in. Though one downside is that some of the game's mechanics are poorly explained and the reccomended build the game gives you is not the best, expect to have to look something up, the game certainly expects you to. Once you get past the learning curve, most of the time your skill matters more than your gear, if you're good at the game, you can handle being underlevel, unlike most MMOs I know of.

I'm not familiar with this reviewer or his content, but a lot of people are criticizing him so I'm just going to give my 2 cents on the subject.

It's unfair to say this review is bad or ignorant, since the reviewer is clearly someone who didn't know the first thing about PSO2 and went into the game with no advice or prior knowledge. From that perspective, of course the systems would seem daunting if they were told with a lot of text. People who are equally new to them game may also feel overwhelmed, and that's who he's targeting with this review.

He doesn't need to explain mags and the like when the only thing he's trying to convey is his first few hours of playing the game. He uses a gunblade with a gunner and didn't use perfect attacks or abilities, yes he's clearly ignorant about how the game works. This is supposed to be an incredibly basic first impression.

If people who watch his videos are interested after watching this, then they will play the game themselves. The can decided for themselves if the game is fun, and if they like it, then they will learn the mechanic on their own or watch more in-depth tutorials from more experience players.

Just started this game a few days ago and it was very good. I like the bouncer class and the summoner class. I get to fly briefly as a bouncer and summon my pet like in Pokemon.

Biggest mistake that sega made was bringing a Jrpg mmo to a western shooting centric platform. Sega is not going to sell well nor expand. Ps4 and switch is the target that they need to focus on.
