TUTORIAL | How To Install Serum Wavetables & Presets

In this video I explain how to install Serum Wavetables & Presets into Serum. It is very easy, but I still wanted to create a video that would quickly explain how to do it properly.

*A faster way*
1.Open Serum
2.Click Menu
3.Click "show serum presets folder"
4. Place your new presets in the corresponding folder
5.Reload Serum

Thanks this video helped me sort out a mess I had. Lots of people will give instructions to just drop presets in the presets folder and wavetables in the wavetables folder. They never mention the User folder so you end up with convoluted menus within serum when browsing. I needed to know which are serums default folders then sort everything else in their retrospective user folder.

Every time I create a timbre in the serum, and save it, when restarting the ableton it does not load the correct waves, in which case it returns to wave default (saw), but the preset settings are intact ... I tried to reinstall the serum, save it in another folder, but nothing worked. However, this only happens with the presets I create, regardless of whether it is from init, or modulating a preset of the vst itself. And the following message also appears when opening the vst, "Serum was unable to load a wavetable to due to missing file."

Now the curious thing is that when I just play a ready-made serum preset, save the project and restart, it works normally.

when i put in a folder it wont show up in serum. it only shows when i put the wavetables individualy in

Hello man, I am using a mac.I have already dragged and dropped every preset to "serum presets/presets/user"but when i try to open the files it doesnt find them (serum) Also It found them for a sec but when i pressed it to load nothing happend and remaind the same... what i ahve to do?

FOR A MAC
through the actual plugin itself go to the drop down menu next to the master volume
click show serum presets folder
throw your presets in the presets folder. you can leave them in the folders.
for the wavetables it only works to import them if i put them in the user folder under tables. it also doesn't allow me to keep them in folders. it can get messy but aye ya gotta do what ya gotta do.

Man, since you are a Serum guru, you've got to respond to that. Lots of people keep asking the same question: what if I renamed or deleted a folder - this bloody presets browser (the new sexy feature that allows to put ratings and stuff) keeps on depicting the already deleted presets. Which is worse, it cannot find the same preset if it was put in a different folder since Serum must have some inner indexing which doesn't rescan the locations of presets. How can one rescan all the presets and make it all right?

hey man when i use my serum on a project, the next time im gonna open the project the preset turns back to init but i have a bass that when i re open, its still in the same way i left.... you know what that is?
