99-04 ford mustang rattle noise while accelerating

Any one have similar issues?

If it is an automatic transmission, most likely the transmission. My 2003 crown vic does the same thing, rattles less when I turn overdrive off. Was instructed to change the trans filter and fluid, filter may be clogged and not allowing the transmission to pressurize and function properly. Car also slips into the overdrive gear when at low speeds which is also a sign of lost pressure in the system due to clogged filter.

Pre-igniting on for mustangs are early explosion in the cylinder due to high heat, carbon build up (decreasing the chamber space for air/fuel mix compression), and poor octane fuel. These steps should help eliminate pre-ignition. ( best cheapest ways):
1. when close to empty, replace FUEL FILTER, and Check Air Filter (replace if needed).
2. fill up with high octane gas 93 (at least half)
3. do 2-4 engine Cylinder cleans with withe sea-foam or royal purple solvents. (not necessary, add 1 can to gas TANK TO CLEAN FUEL LINES)
4. let engine soak in solvents 45min -1 hr
5. run engine hard to remove all junk from cleaning solvents.(untill all white smoke is cleared above 2-3k rpms, take a drive if nec, )--- Steps can be taken further if needed.----
6. do a engine coolant flush (clean radiator) (most expensive)




these steps should help with preigniting and are the cheapest ways i have found that help. Comment for any questions.

There is a choke thing on back of intake. The linkage came off because of rotten clip. 8.00 fix. It's on driver side . Almost looks like a carb throttling linkage. Had same thing happen to my mustang.

mine does this noise but it turns off when in a stop position

My 3.0L ranger makes the same noise under load I put e85 in it an never heard it make this noise again I put regular gas in it an it pings under load I been using e85 in it for 2 years I don’t see what else would cause this issue I had the heads off before an the pistons looked good not much carbon I replaced the injectors at the same time when I put it back together

96 mustang gt mines doing same thing when I go into overdrive I have automatic trans I've reading around these things must be infamous at first I thought was the only person. With that problem

Manual trans? I have the same thing between second and third gear. I think it may be the throwout bearing.

I changed the bushings and i still hear the rattling sound what should i do now?

When did ur check engine light come on? Mine came on at 93000 and its just for the cats

I'm having this same issue except I've done all the steps I could and I still can't find the issue maybe it's to change the type of gas I am using just serviced the transmission for the first time since the car was made actually is a great running almost 2 million miles but this noise is annoying especially when it goes from the front to the back and whenever I turn or accelerate

Is this why the engine light was on I believe my 04 mustang is having this issue but I don’t have any light on the dash

Guys found a fix for this issue after lots of research and working on the car its back to almost perfect condition!!! Check out the vid this guy made it pretty much explains what i did
