From the silent film era to the end of the golden age of Classical Hollywood, Gary Cooper was one of the biggest stars in the industry. In a time when the Western genre was at its height, Cooper’s acting style embodied the strong silent cowboy. His naturalistic style of acting helped establish him as a Western protagonist and he also represented the ideal American hero. But Cooper was not a one-trick pony and expanded his heroic image to more cautious characters. His storied career includes two Academy Award wins, and he is ranked by the American Film Institute as one of the 25 Hollywood male stars of the classic Hollywood cinema. Here is the untold truth of Gary Cooper.

Gary Cooper starred in the 1934 MGM movie "Operator 13, " a movie that takes place during the Civil War. "Operator 13" was a critical and box-office failure that soured Hollywood on movies that took place in the Civil War. When Cooper said that "Gone With The Wind" would bomb, he had personal experience with starring in a Civil War movie that tanked.

I liked Gary Cooper most in “The Wreck of the Mary Deare”.He never looked comfortable in Iove scenes and I believe all the publicity
concerning his affairs with various women was manufactured to please the female audience and sell tickets. He was a man’s man.

Good job! I like how you expose the shadier side without the usual tabloid gossip slant that exaggerates or not solely tintilate. We all have a shady side, don't we? I'd like to think my sum total will be considered and not merely a few notorious acts.
