On Wednesday, Sept. 16, 2020, NASA Chief Scientist Dr. James L. Green and Regional Admissions Counselor Lane Hume, '10 ΚΚΓ, conducted an engaging webinar with prospective high school students from Arkansas, Oklahoma, and Texas.
James L. Green has been NASA’s chief scientist since May 2018. During his 18 years with the space flight organization, he has served as director of the Planetary Science Division and led several space missions, including the New Horizons spacecraft flyby of Pluto, the Messenger spacecraft to Mercury, the Juno spacecraft to Jupiter, the Grail-A and B spacecraft to the Moon, the Dawn spacecraft to Vesta and Ceres, and the landing of the Curiosity rover on Mars.
The 15th Hancock Symposium centered on the theme of “Vision & Values: Charting Our Paths to the Future.” Held on Wednesday, September 16, 2020, it showcased dynamic speakers, innovative formats, and engaging activities that explore realms of human endeavor that bring to bear and develop a capacity for a far-sighted vision that is rooted in a commitment to deeper values.
