You've described so well why I never liked 2000s fashion.

I used to wear all neutral colors minimalist style. A lot of ivory and black. But, for some reason, one day-I realized how much better I feel when I wear colors. I watched a lot of fashion shows and I loved how they combine colors. Still classy and modern with edge at the same time. I will never go back to black every day.

Very interesting to hear more about your personal style. I always think the early 2000 clothes look like they shrank in the wash and I seem to remember them feeling like that too

Well I guess I know why I watch you. Agree with all of this, especially the shirts with embellishments. ❤

I always feel it's valuable when a reviewer or blogger shares their personal style: it's so helpful to know the lens they use to evaluate fashion. As a plus size person, I grew up with clothes like boxes that were horribly ill-fitting; as I developed a personal style, I realized I need clothes that have a defined waist, like dresses, peplum tops and tunics, cardigans, etc. I also found it invaluable to discover the colors that look good on me (none of the black, white, and red of the old boxy businesswear). I wish it hadn't taken so long to know when a trend was working for me or against me.

I agree with everything. Especially the stilettos and the chunky shoes and the brand logo shirts. Absolutely not. I’m also very simple. I stick with my seasonal color palette and that’s it

After everything you mentioned, I was like, "YES, thank you!" 😅 (Except the bra, but I'm one who needs them.) Such a great list. Paisley is the WORST.

These are basically all of my never wears, minus the bra one.

I do so many outdoor activities that I wear sporty clothes all the time. I have such a hard time finding anything nice to wear that fits my lifestyle and doesn't get ruined. I would love to have better style! That's why I watch your channel!

I agree with most points, but as soft summer I do love muddy lilac color for myself 🙂
Hate tacky brand logo aesthetics that is all over. All I see when I travel is those Instagram wanabees with logos all over, cartier bracelet, LV bag and Bottega dupe earrings 😅
(I don't have social presence, don't even have an Instagram account)

Hi Aly! I agree with everything you said! I am unfortunately guilty of having owned some of the items on this list ugh... My style completely changed when I discovered I'm a flamboyant natural and finally understood why overly tight or girly clothes make me look masculine haha now I finally love my clothes and the way they make me look and feel! I couldn't have transformed without youtube creators like you! So thank you thank you!!!

I love "techno" sunglasses, love tracksuits, love lilac. Lilac really suits me. I'm pale and have silver hair and green/blue eyes. I don't find bras super comfortable but love how they support my chest

On myself, I do love stiletto nails that are short and in a classic solid color, like red (no designs or extra things). I am a dramatic classic and the sharp shape compliments my thin, spade shaped hands, and they look like extensions of my naturally tapering fingers. I get compliments on them and one friend told me I inspired her to try them on herself. They are subtle because they don't stick out very much on me, but the slight extension and sharp tips make me feel sexy and dangerous. 💅

Every hot take is accurate! Agree. The y2k is hands down the worst style era. Everything Paris Hilton wore was embodiment of bad taste. Those cold shoulder tops that the real housewives wore too. Just awful. People wearing brand logos tshirts or bags are trying to define themselves by what they wear. They become a product and not an individual person. They become like sheep wearing branded logo stuff. It's ridiculous. Clothing should not have the brand label on the outside of the garment. Only on the inside label.

I love that you always knew what you didn't like. That is so important! Trends and what is available isn't for everyone and you are proof of that.

I appreciate you sharing your style. I ❤ lilac. Lilac works well with my soft summer coloring and on me looks great paired with denim, navy, white and grey. I have a couple pair of high heel shoes where the heel goes straight down, but the heels are chunkier, not stiletto.

I like art nail when it’s very nude colors with one painted nail (leopard, knitt effect, glitter) and the rest a simple baby pink or beige . Otherwise I love french style with the white line, babyboomer, glaze, marble or pink quartz effect when its done subtly in the nude shades . I think if you dress simple and classic it can add a little touch of fun embellishment or a sweet romantic vibe of course all on short nails

Great video Aly. One thing I own very little black. It always has looked harsh on me so my black is Navy. ❤

I just wanted to say thank you and I’m so glad you made this channel. I can’t wait to pass this down to my daughters as well. I know David Kibbe made the system but I learnt everything from you.
