The "Voices of the Manhattan Project" oral history collection was created by the Atomic Heritage Foundation to preserve the stories of those involved with the secretive World War II project to build the atomic bomb. First, on Saturday, we hear from engineer Lawrence O'Rourke, one of the first to help research and develop the gaseous diffusion process for the separation of uranium at Columbia University. Later, he worked at the K-25 uranium enrichment plant in Oak Ridge, Tennessee. Then on Sunday, Virginia Coleman describes her experiences as a chemist for the Manhattan Project at Oak Ridge.
