Mass is to worship and glorify God. Catholic Bible studies, Catholic radio, books are all available for learning. Our parish Sundays, 9:30 Rosary, 10:00 Mass, 11:00 coffee and donuts (fellowship), 12 noon til 1 :30 pm, Bible study, taught by a lady with her Masters in Theology.

And this is why l love going to Divine Liturgy (Byzantine Catholic). I’m responding to the priest throughout - from the “ Lord have mercy” to singing all the songs that are based on good theology. In fact, my wife, who is still protestant, has commented on this is why I like it so much it’s because she sees me interact.

When I was an evangelical, and went to church, it was cool to sing the worship, but then the rest of the time you just sit there. I used to get so bored. Plus, I often knew what the preacher was talking about, and I would bring devotional books to read to keep myself from crawling up the walls.

If you’re not participating in the chants or the prayers, you are totally missing out. Yes, to worship God, but also, to speak God‘s truth out loud and to fill your soul with truth.

I'm glad he's teaching this, too. As a lifelong Protestant, I have told people that I go to Mass for the Eucharist, not the priest or the parish (per lots of hometown gossip around them).

Wao!!!! Yes, I know but so many need a little inspiration also! Its not a good thing when the priest is just repeating the words, shows no passion or anything for the miracle happening, did not even prepare a Homily and just read something as if he was reading a novel… bad… and I truly feel the pain for the priest when that happens and pray for him!
