Satinder Singh Bajwa, Chief Commercial Officer of JSW MG Motor India, speaks with Diksha Tripathi of ET Online about the innovative battery subscription model introduced with the new MG Windsor EV. Bajwa explains how this approach aims to reduce the upfront cost disparity between internal combustion engine (ICE) vehicles and electric vehicles (EVs) in the Indian market. He also discusses the strategy behind the vehicle's competitive pricing of ₹9.99 lakhs and its impact on the automotive landscape during a period of sluggish sales. Bajwa elaborates on the dual-EMI structure, where buyers will pay separately for the car and battery, and addresses MG Motor's plans for market disruption and special offers like the lifetime warranty for early buyers.

I think it is one of the best running options. See, without fuel, all our cars are a dabba anyway. All we buy is a dabba, and then we put fuel in it to run. Similarly, MG also providing us a zero fuel super size car for 10 lakhs, that will go 300+ km for 1000 rupees. I know all diesel cars have capacity to go 200 km for 1000 rupees, but none of them come at 10 lakhs 😂😂😂, and for 6 lakh buy back after 3 years. I think it's one of the best offers for new customers. And Mg has proven that it's reliability is far far far beyond Tata and Mahindra.

1) they will give buyout option for battery after some time. E. G. Pay 3 lakh and then its yours.
2)they should have brought it with 50 kw battery with same option. It gives 340+ range. This will be not used much for highways.
3) it is deffinitely cheap considering vehicle like even nexon or curvv or even zs ev.
4) those whose running is low they will deffinitely adopt for evs e. g. Someone runs 10k / year its not much costly for them

Intelligent move, just buy car + tax, don't buy battery and save tax on it.

questions were similar what they say already on their pich. you should ask them that if someone who want to buy this car without battery maintenance charges 3.5rs for 1km so what will be the full amount of a car then?

Mg owning the battery which cost mareley 4 /5 lacks extra but customers would end up paying more in emis 🦀

Not gonna work, people need total ownership and not subscription models. 3.5 per km also too high for an EV...better to buy a cng and same cost per km

MG is not sharing the detailed information around this Lifetime warranty and the battery EMI, need clarity on the following:
1) The so called "maintenance contract" amount to avail the lifetime warranty?
2) Any minimum monthly amount for the battery rental that has to be paid even if you dont drive your MG vehicle?
