What are your thoughts on a Supply Chain Management Degree? Do you think its worth it?

I finally found a career where I could cut costs, organize, work independently and make good money and have a broad range to work in

I've been trying to figure out what I've wanted to do for years now. At 34 I was feeling like it was too late to go school. After hearing about supply chain management it just kind of seems like a no brainer. Growing up, even more so now, I absolutely loved video games that we're heavy on resource/supply chain management. Pharaoh, Caesar, banished, going medieval and about 500 other games. Everything from how much clay a potter needs to supply 10 to 6000 people to puzzling out all the parts of several industries to support a city and projecting growth. Now I just feel stupid that it took my wasted 20s, settling for a decent (still dead end) job and my 12 year relationship falling apart to see what is obvious. Supply chain management is f'ing awesome and I want to kill at it.

This is what I needed. I'm 28, broke artist, was going nowhere, thought I'd finally go back to school to major in animation... except I finally had to admit to myself there's no money in animation, not enough to live off of, ever, and at this age, I do not want to stay broke trying to break into a seemingly impossible and unfair animation industry. I am so, so glad I decide to follow in a friend's footsteps, and decided to change majors to supply chain management. Sounds like a job fit for me. I always wanted to work in an office space. It'll give me the pay, benefits, and time-off that a struggling animation studio could never afford me. Thank you, for making these videos.

I'm currently entering my third year of SCM with Procurement as my elective and I cannot wait to graduate and take the industry by the horns! Thanks for this motivation.. we hear too much about people bad-mouthing degrees and the use of them. Sometimes you just need to shut your ears and keep your head down and do what you signed up to do - there was a reason for wanting a degree after all. It is refreshing to hear some supportive advice and comments directly related to your own field. Thanks man!

was torn in-between International business management and supply chain management but I'm beginning to lean towards supply chain because I'll get to learn the nitty-gritty of business processes and can equally start my own firm later on in future because the industry is vast. Thanks for this.

I’ve been in school pursuing this degree. I’m 29 and it is very fun. Right now I’m learning about a.I technology.. such a diverse degree. The classes are not hard…I’m top 10% in my school. Now I want to pursue some tech certifications to go along with it.

It’s a hot degree out there. Learning some programming as a minor/certificate can help because it is kind of weak in some technical areas. But it's overall a very solid option.
